4th Plans

Kim
Sitting here w/ hot rollers in my hair and catching up on emails & such.
I'll be heading out w/ a friend of mine & her husband for dinner @ Ruth's Chris. I haven't been in ages and looking forward to it. I have not had a bite to eat all day besides a small yogurt and I'm starving!

I plan on having their Crabtini for my appetizer, the Petite Filet w/ blue cheese topping for the main course and for dessert, bread pudding w/ whiskey sauce. I said plan, it can be that my eyes are bigger than my stomach. haha.

Then plan on relaxing for the rest of the weekend.

Starting Monday I have a few calls & emails to make & do for some of the Charity Organizations I'm involved with (Special Olympics and Make-A-Wish) -
Then I need to start looking to see what to do while my brother is here for a week next month. We (parents, brother & I) may make a trip down to Biloxi for the week. My parents have a friend who offered us their condo right on the water and so we may take them up on that. But we're also thinking that since we'll be close to New Orleans, we may continue on and go there for a day or two.

And then Vegas! Ok, so it's not until October but there are a few shows we want to see while we're there and it is advised to get the tix ASAP! I'm excited and can't wait.

Happy 4th!!!!

If you're a fan of 'Dancing w/ The Stars' then you know Juliane Hough. My brother was one of 3 cameramen filming her for AOL Sessions.

Her brother (also on DWTS) sung w/ her as well.

He found her totally cute (we knew that already) and funny but also very professional when needed to be. And only 19! I hate her! haha.

Italy Next Year

Kim
Well, Italy will have to wait til next year. =(

With the cost of gas & flights especially overseas, we figured we're better off saving it for 09. But! We're still taking our yearly vacation, and it will be Vegas Baby! I'm sad about Italy, but I've been to Vegas 3 times and have had a blast each & everytime. Sepetember will be the month. This is awesome because I will not only be getting away, but will be seeing my brother again. He'll be here in August and then he'll meet us in Vegas in Sept. and then again in December for Christmas.

Ok, free some time up between Aug. 20 - Aug 25. Not sure which day yet, but when it gets closer I'll let you know.

I know it's 3 months away but my brother is coming into town that week and I would love to get a small group together to go out for dinner for my BDay. I'm not sure of the place either, again I'll let you know when it gets closer. :)

Yes Kali & Rawee I'm pointing to you and any others interested. :)

Stimulus Payment Schedule for Tax Returns

vintagehi
Economic stimulus payments will be issued according to the last two-digits of the main filer's Social Security number. For joint filers, the payments will go out based on the person listed first on the return. Payments will be made by either direct deposit or paper check, consistent with how people filed their 2007 tax return.

You do not experience strong, irresistible cravings and consequently do not find yourself tempted to overindulge, however you are sensitive about what others think of you. Your concern about rejection and ridicule cause you to feel shy and uncomfortable around others. You are easily embarrassed and often feel ashamed. Your fears that others will criticize or make fun of you are exaggerated and unrealistic, but your awkwardness and discomfort may make these fears a self-fulfilling prophecy. You tend not to talk much and prefer to let others control the activities of groups. You prefer the security and stability brought by conformity to tradition. You do not like to claim that you are better than other people, and generally shy from talking yourself up, however you are mostly a compassionate person, however you prefer to make objective judgments when possible. You are well-organized and like to live according to routines and schedules. Often you will keep lists and make plans.

The feeling of embarrassement & being ashamed has not come across me in a long time, so I don't know why it shows up here. I guess I need to continue working on that -LoL- but I have (in my mind) come along way.

I can't believe I will start planning my trip to Italy this coming week. Did I mention, I'm going to Italy??!!

Yes, Dad surprised us alittle over a week ago, but it was not definite until the past couple of days. (first) had to make sure that everyone could go and (second) that everyone wanted to go. (ummmm duh!) LoL! It will be my parents, brother & I. Plus our cousins who will be meeting us in Florence. This will be the first time for my mother, brother & I. My dad lived there for a few years when he was a young man. Dad will be talking w/ the travel agent on Monday to get the ball rolling. We will be going in September but need to start planning now. I need a passport as well as my mom. My brother already has one and my dad needs to renew his. We'll be visiting Rome, Florence and Venice and a few others in between. We're banking on being there for 2 weeks.

There is just sooooo much to do!

Can't Escape the Tiger Blue!

  • Apr. 7th, 2008 at 7:10 PM
Kim
I went to have a consultation w/ my new dentist today.

First, Yay! Not as much work or as much $$ as I thought it was going to be. But in a few weeks I will have pretty teeth again. Actually they're not that bad, but the back of my mouth is hellish right now. You can call me vampira. Doesn't hurt that he gave me a discount off the total amount of what will be done as he was recommeded by my internist (he's his dentist as well) and plus he was being kind.

Second, his exam room was all decked out in Tiger blue, as were the nurses. Haha!
He's an alumni of UofM.

Off to friends to catch the game.
Go Tigers!

Italian kids vs. American kids

mafiapark
American kids: Move out when they're 18 with the full support of their parents.
Italian kids: Move out wh en they're 28, having saved enough money for a house, and are two weeks away from getting married....unless there's room in the basement for the newlyweds.

American kids: When their Mom visits them, she brings a Bundt cake, and you sip coffee and chat.
Italian kids: When their Mom visits them, she bring s 3 days worth of food, begins to tidy up, dust, do the laundry, and rearrange the furniture.

American kids: Their dads always call before they come over to visit them, and it's usually only on special occasions.
Italian kids: Are not at all fazed when their dads show up, unannounced, on a Saturda y morn ing at 8:00, and starts pruning the fruit trees. If there are no fruit trees, he'll plant some.

American kids: Always pay retail, and look in the Yellow Pages when they need to have something done.
Italian kids: Call their dad or uncle, and ask for another dad's or uncle's phone number to get it d one.

American kids: Will come over for cake and coffee, and get only cake and coffee. No more.
Italian kids: Will come over for cake and coffee, and get antipasto, wine, a pasta dish, a choice of two meats, salad, bread, a cannoli, fruit, espresso, and a few after dinner drinks.

American kids: Will greet you with "Hello" or "Hi".
Italian kids: Will give you a big hug, a kiss on your cheek, and a pat on your back.

American kids: Call your parents Mr and Mrs.
Italian kids: Call your parents Mom and Dad.

American kids: Have never seen you cry.
Italian kids: Cry with you.

American kids: Will eat at your dinner table and leave.
Italian kids: Will spend hours there, talking, laughing, and just being together.

American kids: Know few things about you.
Italian kids: Could write a book with direct quotes from you.

American kids: Eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on soft mushy white bread.
Italian kids: Eat Genoa Salami and Provolone sandwiches on crusty Italian bread.

American kids: Will leave you behind if that's what the crowd is doing
Italian kids: Will kick the whole crowds' ass who left you behind.

American kids: Are for a while.
Italian kids: Are for life.

American kids: Like Rod Stewart and Steve Tyrell.
Italian kids: Worship Tony Bennett and Sinatra

American kids: Think that being Italian is cool.
Italian kids: Know that being Italian is cool.

Just for today since I know I'll be eating non-stop tomorrow. I won't go crazy but I will feel better knowing I can treat myself after I filled up just on water today. I will have a salad later (just lettuce, evoo & balsamic vinegar) but other than that, I'm good.

I just finished making up the Antipasta & the Prosciutto wrapped asparagus (last minute added dish) which is now marinating in evoo. My contributions to the Easter Sunday meal along w/ the iced tea which is brewing as we speak. Now relaxing and watching some golf b4 I do some last minute picking up in my area of the house.

A beautiful day today, a bit crisp outside but sunny.
I love spring.

Happy Easter -

Memphis Mayor Willie Herenton is resigning July 31st! Finally!
More info will be on the 10:00 News. If the stars are lined up, A.C Warton will take over. I don't know if that's an option but it would be an awesome move for Memphis, IMO.
